Kim Johnson was a 56-year-old Retired Teacher from Oyster Bay, New York when she competed on
Survivor: Africa, making her the oldest contestant of the season. Despite initial concerns about her age and physical abilities, Kim proved to be a formidable competitor who won the final three Individual Immunity Challenges in a row. Her immunity wins forced the Boran Alliance to turn on itself, leading to the eliminations of Tom Buchanan and Lex van den Berghe. Kim chose to take Ethan Zohn to the Final Tribal Council where she finished as the runner-up in a 5-2 jury vote.
