Richard Hatch

Richard Hatch was a 42-year-old Corporate Trainer from Newport, Rhode Island when he returned for Survivor: All-Stars as the original Sole Survivor who invented alliance-based strategy in Borneo. A former Captain in the United States Army, Richard changed the game forever by forming the Tagi Alliance and winning the first season with strategic gameplay that shocked viewers. His time on All-Stars was marked by controversy when an incident during a challenge led to conflict with Susan Hawk, who quit the game shortly after. Richard was voted out on Day 14 and later faced legal troubles related to not paying taxes on his Survivor winnings.
