Austin Carty

Austin Carty was a 24-year-old Writer from High Point, North Carolina when he competed on Survivor: Panama. A Liberty University attendee who played Division One soccer and studied speech communications, Austin was an established author who published his first novel 'Somewhere Beyond Here' in 2003 and supplemented his income with modeling. He was selected second in the tribal schoolyard pick by Terry Deitz and became part of the La Mina men's alliance that dominated the pre-merge game. Austin was voted out on Day 21 in a 6-3 vote as the first jury member, unable to flip enough Casaya members despite his strategic efforts. He briefly dated Survivor: Palau contestant Jenn Lyon in 2006 and has since become a pastor at Boulevard Baptist Church, authoring books on faith and ministry.
