Caryn Groedel was a 46-year-old Civil Rights Lawyer from Solon, Ohio when she competed on
Survivor: Palau. A George Washington University graduate who earned her law degree from George Mason University while working full-time as a legal secretary, Caryn specialized in civil rights and employment discrimination law. She was outside the main Koror alliance but survived to the individual phase, notably helping Tom and Ian execute the blindside of Gregg Carey on Day 33. Caryn had frequent verbal confrontations with Katie Gallagher over work ethic and attempted to flip the vote against Ian at the final five, but her 'messenger' strategy backfired and she was unanimously eliminated on Day 36. She continues to practice law in Cleveland, Ohio as the owner of Caryn Groedel & Associates Co., LPA.
