BigCountry

BigCountry is a 37-year-old singer from Bakersfield, California, who describes himself not as a country-music artist, but as “a music artist that’s country.” His soulful sound was nurtured in church by a grandmother who played piano and a mother who directed the choir. His musical talents eventually expanded to drums, piano, saxophone, clarinet and several other instruments. BigCountry later served eight years in the Army, including a deployment to Afghanistan, while continuing to perform at military ceremonies and in the Army band. Today, faith, music and family remain at the center of his life. He and his wife, Maria, have built a blended family of seven children, and he hopes to show them that it is never too late to pursue a passion. As a contestant on The Voice Season 30, BigCountry is ready to put that passion center stage with Team Queen.
