Happy Friday, Bachelor Nation! We are happy to report that The Bachelor franchise is seeing a renaissance of sorts. After Golden Bachelor gave us the jolt of newness we craved, Joey’s season is bringing in record-setting viewership, both because of the incredible casting (best Top 6 ever??) and because Joey himself is adorable & can do no wrong. I think it’s safe to say that, after a few years of questionable choices, we are officially BACK.

The Golden Bachelorette is Happening
For years and years, ABC teased a ‘senior’ version of The Bachelor – but their newest spinoff announcement came much faster this time. ABC has officially confirmed that the Golden Bachelorette will premiere later this Fall. They have yet to announce who the leading lady will be, but a cryptic update from the casting director implies that she has already been chosen! Based on their determination to get the Golden women of last season back on our screen at every opportunity, it’s safe to say they are the obvious front-runners.
…But At What Cost?
While ABC has already started teasing Golden Bachelorette, we still don’t have a green light for Season 10 of Bachelor in Paradise. After Season 9 saw another significant drop-off in viewership, followed by the quick dissolution of all 3 ‘happy’ couples within the same 48 hours, it’s easy to acknowledge that the show isn’t exactly in its prime. If you had asked us after last season whether BIP was worth saving, we would have been pretty non-committal. But with so many incredible women coming off of Joey’s season, it seems like a shame to not see them on our TVs ever again.
Paradise has always given us an opportunity to get to know our favorites more – and as much as the drama can sometimes feel petty, some of the most successful Bachelor Nation couples also came from BIP – including:
Jade & Tanner – Married (Season 2), Ashley & Jared – Married (Season 2), Raven & Adam – Married (Season 4), Kevin & Astrid – Married (Season 5), Dean & Caelynn Miller-Keyes – Married (Season 6), Hannah & Dylan – Married (Season 6), Joe & Serena – Married (Season 7), Kenny & Mari – Married (Season 7), Thomas & Becca – Married (Season 7), Noah & Abigail – Engaged (Season 7), Chris & Alanna – Dating (Season 7)
We’re still hoping for a return to Paradise in some form later this year, but only time (and ratings) will tell.
Can We Steal You for a Sec?
- Despite her hometown date coming straight out of a Christian Girl Autumn meme, we saw a different side of Daisy when someone uncovered her guest appearance in a music video she shared in 2021. The original has since been scrubbed from the internet, but if you haven’t seen this original TikTok reaction, you must.
- He is risen! Just in time for Easter, formerly banished Chris Harrison is coming back in the spotlight on a new network created by Dr. Phil. First up, a morning show co-hosted by his wife, Lauren Zima. But more interesting, it sounds like a brand new dating show is in the works. “People got to know and love me [questionable] for two decades hosting The Bachelor, so, yes, we are going to be creating a reality dating show,” Harrison said on ET.
- The Bracketology app officially crossed over 50,000 downloads since launched at the end of January! You can currently play fantasy for The Bachelor, Drag Race, Survivor, and The Amazing Race – with more shows launching all the time. If you haven’t downloaded the app yet, check it out!
