🌴 Survivor Will Let Fans Guide Gameplay for Landmark 50th Season
📱👈 Join a fantasy league for Survivor on the Bracketology app.
CBS’s iconic reality competition is putting unprecedented power in viewers’ hands ahead of its milestone 50th season, introducing “Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans” slated for February 2026. Fans will vote on critical game elements spanning idol inclusion, the fate of the final four fire-making challenge, and whether to host the finale live in Los Angeles or right after the season in Fiji.
Host and executive producer Jeff Probst calls this “the next evolution” of the series, emphasizing how the show has continuously transformed since its debut. Probst expressed excitement about seeing “what the fans choose for our returning players,” suggesting Season 50 will feature a cast of familiar faces. Voting opens when Season 48 premieres TONIGHT (and speaking of more opportunities for fan engagement, don’t forget to join a Survivor fantasy league).

The initiative represents CBS’s first full-year celebration leading to the milestone season, according to CBS marketing chief Mike Benson who called the fan involvement “a game changer.” All voting will conclude before filming begins, maintaining the show’s traditional production schedule that films months before broadcast.
Five lucky fan groups will win trips to Fiji during the landmark season’s filming through a special sweepstakes sponsored by CBS and Fiji Airways. The partnership will even feature a “Survivor 50-branded Fiji Airways jet” as part of the year-long celebration leading up to the anniversary season.
📺 Bachelorette Hiatus Sparks Franchise Concerns

ABC’s sudden decision to “pause” The Bachelorette for summer 2025 has fans questioning the future of the long-running reality franchise.
The timing raises eyebrows following Jenn Tran’s “disastrous” Season 21, which ended with winner Devin Strader calling off their engagement by phone and a finale that failed to protect the show’s first Asian American lead.
Former contestants have expressed shock, with Rachel Recchia revealing, “I heard they picked the lead…and then all of a sudden, I saw this on Instagram.”
Host Jesse Palmer offered minimal explanation, telling the Playing the Field podcast he’s “obviously a little bummed” but assuring fans the show is “definitely coming back.” He noted the show has aired in fall before, but couldn’t discuss the “creative decisions” behind the move.
Industry insiders suggest Hulu’s hit The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives may replace Bachelorette’s timeslot, with Ashley Iaconetti sharing that “because that’s doing so well, they’re going to use the Bachelorette time slot, because it’s the same demographic.”
The lack of transparency has fueled speculation about the franchise’s health, with some alums voicing concern about “the beginning of the end.” Bachelor Nation continues to hope for clarity as Grant Ellis’ Bachelor season unfolds.
