Chad Crittenden

James 'Chad' Crittenden was a 35-year-old Teacher from Oakland, California when he made history as Survivor's first amputee contestant on Vanuatu. A UC Davis graduate who lost his leg below the knee to Synovial Sarcoma cancer and completed a triathlon just nine months after his amputation surgery, Chad was viewed as both inspirational and a major jury threat due to his compelling story. As a member of the Fat Five alliance, he survived the tribe switch and made the merge, but fell victim to the dominant women's alliance. Chad was voted out on Day 27 as the second member of the jury, and has since become a motivational speaker sharing his story of perseverance.
