Matthew Grinstead-Mayle

Matthew Grinstead-Mayle, a 43-year-old barbershop owner from Pickerington, Ohio currently residing in Columbus, is spontaneous, caring, and adventurous. He has been a lifelong fan of Survivor and always dreamed of being a part of the show. Matthew’s unique childhood growing up around nature and surrounded by friends taught him to love people and the outdoors, which has prepared him for the game. He identifies with Elaine the most but hopes to play like a combination of Shan and Ben. Trust is the most important factor Matthew values in an alliance partner, along with complementing strengths. His hobbies include adventures with his family, rollercoasters, and collecting plants, while his pet peeves include talking in circles and purple and white color combo. Matthew’s proudest accomplishment is his family and he finds inspiration from his husband, who has helped him love himself. He believes his heart, drive, and ability to help others will help him become the Sole Survivor, with plenty of giggles and rainbows along the way.
