Sonja Christopher made history as the first person ever voted out of the American
Survivor franchise in Season 1. At 63 years old, she was the oldest woman to compete on
Survivor and brought joy to her Tagi tribemates by playing her ukulele around camp. A breast cancer
survivor with a background in music therapy, Sonja had a Bachelor of Science in psychology and worked as an investment counselor, tennis teacher, and elementary school teacher before retiring. Despite being well-liked by her tribe, she stumbled during the first Immunity Challenge, leading to her elimination on Day 3.
