Vecepia Towery

Vecepia Towery was a 36-year-old Office Manager from Portland, Oregon when she became the Sole Survivor of Survivor: Marquesas. A Troy State University graduate and US Air Force veteran, Vecepia played a subtle under-the-radar game that kept her out of the spotlight while others became targets. She made history as the first African-American winner of Survivor, earning the title in a close 4-3 jury vote over Neleh Dennis. Her strategic gameplay included a last-minute deal with Kathy Vavrick-O'Brien at the final Immunity Challenge, securing her path to the Final Tribal Council and cementing her place in Survivor history.
