Adam Bohanan, a 40-year-old from New York, New York, is a contestant on Team Reba in The Playoffs. A self-described “total nerd,” Adam is passionate about all things “Star Trek,” “Doctor Who,” Legos, comic books, and even writes goofy songs for fun. Born to a white Jewish mother and a Black father, Adam faced challenges in understanding his biracial identity, especially after his parents divorced when he was 4. He moved with his mother to Israel and later to England, where he completed school. Despite immersing himself in music during those years, Adam felt uncertain of his artistic direction until he discovered Musiq Soulchild’s “Just Friends (Sunny)” while working in an English market as a teenager. Captivated by the soul-R&B sound, he delved into “Dirty Soul” music and icons like Al Green and Sam Cooke, reconnecting with his Black heritage and embracing his identity as an artist. Today, Adam lives in Minneapolis with his wife, and they’re excited to start a family of their own soon.
