Sofronio Vasquez, a 31-year-old from Mindanao, Philippines, is bringing his incredible journey to The Voice as a member of Team Bublé. Growing up with no bed or indoor plumbing, Sofronio’s childhood was modest but filled with happiness, thanks to the joy that music brought his family. Singing with his father remains a cherished memory, as his dad was his first coach and greatest supporter. Initially doubting his own musical abilities, Sofronio pursued a career in dentistry. However, while studying for his dental boards, he decided to give music a chance. This decision coincided with a profound tragedy—his father’s sudden passing. Fueled by a desire to honor his father’s memory, Sofronio took a leap of faith and moved to America to pursue his passion. Since his move, Sofronio has made a name for himself by competing at the Apollo Theater and earning millions of views on social media for his heartfelt performances of classics like “Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love for You” and “That’s What Friends Are For.” Now, he’s ready to share his voice with a larger audience and make his father proud.
