Cao Boi Bui

Anh-Tuan 'Cao Boi' Bui was a 42-year-old Nail Salon Manager from Christiansburg, Virginia when he competed on Survivor: Cook Islands, leaving a lasting strategic legacy on the game. A Vietnam War refugee who arrived in America at age 11, Cao Boi served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division, held a world record in Marathon Softball, and hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2003. Despite being an immediate outcast on the Puka Puka tribe due to his eccentric behavior and controversial jokes, he proved highly intelligent by curing Brad Virata's headache through his 'pulling the pain' technique. Cao Boi invented the 'Split Vote' strategy he called 'Plan Voodoo' to protect against Hidden Immunity Idols, which became a standard Survivor strategy used in every subsequent season, but was blindsided in a 6-1-1 vote when Yul felt threatened by his strategic mind.
