Jan Gentry was a 53-year-old Teacher from Tampa, Florida when she competed on
Survivor: Thailand as the oldest woman of the season. A Lamar University graduate with a degree in Education, Jan worked as a first grade teacher and had previously served as tennis legend Martina Navratilova's secretary. As the oldest woman, she was tasked with selecting the Chuay Gahn tribe and was immediately criticized for choosing older, weaker players, though her tribe ultimately dominated the merge. Jan's quirky personality, including creating a pet cemetery for a baby bat and chicken parts, made her a memorable character, and she was voted out on Day 38 just one day short of the Final Tribal Council.
