Biography

Sekou Bunch was a 45-year-old Jazz Musician from Los Angeles, California when he competed on Survivor: Cook Islands on the Manihiki tribe as part of the controversial ethnicity-divided cast. A professional jazz musician who had recorded and performed with legends including Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, Luther Vandross, Ray Charles, and George Benson, Sekou played electric bass, double bass, clarinet, guitar, and piano and co-wrote the Tom Browne single 'Thighs High.' He immediately made himself the leader of his tribe but was frequently exhausted and taking breaks, leading to his poor work ethic becoming an issue. Sekou was voted out first on Day 3 in a 3-2 vote, and at the reunion show he performed a song he wrote about his Survivor experience.
