Butch Lockley

Butch Lockley was a 50-year-old Middle School Principal from Olney, Illinois when he competed on Survivor: The Amazon. A Greenville College graduate with a master's in education administration from Eastern Illinois University, Butch served 19 years as a high school teacher, athletic director, and coach before becoming a principal. His 'Believe in Yourself' banner luxury item inspired his tribemates, and he was generally well-liked for his positive attitude and work ethic. Butch became infamous for accidentally starting the fire that burned down the Jacaré camp on Day 36 due to his obsessive firewood gathering. He was voted out on Day 37 and was the only jury member to vote for Matthew von Ertfelda to win.
