Deena Bennett was a 35-year-old Deputy District Attorney from Riverside, California when she competed on
Survivor: The Amazon. A Cal State Fullerton graduate with a Juris Doctor from the University of Minnesota, Deena worked in the Sexual Assault Child Abuse Unit and participated in triathlons and adventure racing. She became the leader of the Jaburu tribe and controlled several votes, orchestrating the elimination of JoAnna Ward and the historic blindside of Roger Sexton. Deena's aggressive attempt to prematurely eliminate Alex Bell backfired when her own alliance turned on her, and she was blindsided on Day 27. She lost 30 pounds during her time on the show and remains the first Latin American contestant to last longer than 6 days.
