Roger Sexton was a 56-year-old Vice President of Estimating from Valencia, California when he competed on
Survivor: The Amazon as the oldest contestant of the season. A US Marine Corps veteran who served in Vietnam, Roger earned his BS in Industrial Technology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo after returning from war and working as a construction laborer while attending night school. His abrasive leadership style and views on social issues alienated many tribemates, and he received the most votes against him in the entire season with 11. Roger was blindsided on Day 21 just before making the jury when the women orchestrated his elimination for perceived sexism, and he passed away on October 26, 2022 after a long battle with Lewy body dementia.
