Every week, you’ll choose a lineup of contestants who will earn (or lose) points depending on what they say or do during the episode. After each episode, you will have the option to choose a new team for the following week.

These rules all pertain to MasterChef gameplay: Challenges and Eliminations.

PUTTING THE ‘MASTER’ IN MASTERCHEF

+6    Chef earns immunity from elimination

+8    Chef is recognized as having one of the top dishes in a challenge

+8    Chef wins team challenge

+12   Chef wins an individual challenge

 

THE WRONG INGREDIENTS

-5    Chef is recognized as having one of the bottom dishes in a challenge

-8    Chef gets eliminated from the competition

CLASSIC MASTERCHEF MOMENTS

+4    Chef has a 1-on-1 conversation with a judge

+4    Chef helps another chef/gives them an ingredient (2x points if advice/help is given while helping chef is on the balcony)

+5    Chef is seen eating on camera or tasting their dish (food must be seen entering their mouth)

+6    Chef uses an advantage (chooses what type of dish other contestants cook, picks teams, etc.)

+7    Chef is chosen as a team captain

 

NOT A GOOD LOOK

-4    Chef burns food/drops ingredient on floor/has to start part of dish over

-6    Chef cuts or burns themselves/needs medical attention

THE RIGHT INGREDIENTS

+3    Chef says “strategy” or version of that word

+4    Chef says “MasterChef” title or mentions a previous season contestant

+5    Chef says they are making a dish “outside of comfort zone”/takes risk

+5    Chef says a variation of “this is me on a plate”

 

LET’S ASK THE JUDGES

+4    Judge says chef’s plating/presentation looks good/restaurant quality

-2    Judge says chef’s plating/presentation is bad

-4    Judge says chef’s dish is under/over seasoned

-6    Judge says chef’s protein is under/over cooked

 

THERE’S TOO MUCH AT STEAK

-2    Chef is bleeped out

-3    Chef mentions not having enough time

These rules are important, but only relevant for certain parts of the season.

If you're not first, you don't get points.

The following rules will only be scored Once per Season - for the first chef to complete the rule.

FIRST TIME’S A CHARM

+5    Chef wins first Mystery Box challenge

+7    First Chef to tell Gordon they love/are a fan of him

+20   Wins title of MasterChef
